We started our trip in Delhi, India. After 25 hours of travel, we arrived in India, and our driver greeted us with marigold garland. These two exhausted travelers were delighted to receive them. DAY 1 We were excited that we would be in a five star hotel. Upon arrival, I remembered that in China I had learned that five star didn’t always mean the same thing there as in the US. Our hotel is fine but in the US it would probably be a 3 1/2. All the staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. Our hotel is located in New Delhi. We learned that this is the section that was built by the British. It has wide boulevards , huge mansions, and lovely greenery all around the roads. But for our first day, we hired a guide, who took us to old Delhi, a vibrant , crowded bustling place. Notice the jumble of electrical wires hanging over the lanes.
